Obituary of Rose Licata Campbell

Please share a memory of Rose to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Rose Licata Campbell, 97, of Pearland (formerly of Pasadena) passed away Friday, April 28, 2017.  She was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 30, 1919 to Camillo Licata and Rosario Ceravino and was one of 9 children.

In her teens, she left school and supported the war effort by building gliders—she was truly “Rosie the Riveter”.  Rose married Charles Campbell on August 30, 1947 and they had two children, Barbara and Charles.  They moved to Texas in 1955.  It was then that Rose began selling real estate in the Pasadena area and continued all her life.  She loved the city and was also instrumental in the creation of a park adjacent to her home that now bears her name.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles, her parents, and 7 of her 8 brothers and sisters.  Rose is survived by her daughter, Barbara Kleissle (Paul), of Pearland, son, Charles Campbell (Julie) of Reston, VA; grandchildren, Amy Lusk (Bart) of Montgomery, Denise Cox of Pearland, and Valerie McCleary (Jim) of Ashburn, VA; and great-grandchildren, George Cox, Avery Lusk, Blayne Lusk, Devon Kohler, and Kelly Kohler.  She is also survived by her loving brother, John Licata of Dumont, New Jersey.

Rose loved her family first and she loved to watch the Astros!

Special thanks to the caregivers at Autumn Grove Pearland and Hospice Plus.  They have been like family to Rose and to us and showed her love every day.
