Obituary of Terry Michael Hopkins

Terry Michael “Mike” Hopkins, 63, passed away Monday, July 31, 2017.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mildred Hopkins; and brother, Gary Hopkins.  Mike is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Billie Jo Hopkins; son, Jeffrey Michael Hopkins; sisters, Joanna Burch and husband, Gary, Brenda Wilson; and a host of other family and friends.

Mike worked for many years at Nestle Waters and was a self-taught software developer and engineer.  He dedicated his life to develop programs that would help his fellow employees save hours and days of manual work.  Mike was a loving and devoted family man.  He ensured his elderly Mother-in-law received the best of care at home.  Mike enjoyed cooking, dancing, dogs, woodwork, flying drones, photography and endlessly playing his guitar.  His favorite pastime however was riding his Harley with his friends.  Mike was a source of great strength and inspiration to everyone he met as he battled through his cancer treatments; never once complaining.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family would like to extend their deepest thanks to Mike’s niece, Jamie Dixon for taking such great care of Mike through all the good and tough times along with his lifelong friend of 40-plus years whom he referred to as his “Brother form another Mother” Steve Thibault and wife, Denise.

Services for Mike will be held Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581.  The visitation will begin at 1:00 pm and the service will follow at 2:00 pm.
