I am so sorry to hear about the loss of James. He and I dated about 31 years ago. He was the kindest, sweetest man that I have ever known. I am grateful for the time that we had together and will always cherish my memories of him. It warms my heart to hear about all of the time that he spent with the grandchildren. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and his friends.

I always looked forward to visiting with Doyle while he still lived at home there at Jenkins Ferry. Doyle, Peggy, Jimmy, and Billy, and I would spend time together while the grownups talked. Mostly poking around the woods near the house. His laugh was contagious, and he made everyone happy when he was around. I miss him. After he left for Texas, I only saw him at family reunions, one of which he attended on his Harley. I always felt I could ask anything of him and he would have done it the best it could be done. A huge number of people will miss him, but he left us with all of the good deeds and memories, and a great family to pass on his happiness............Douglas F. Smith

James was my buddy. We would go out to eat, bowl and motorcycle together. He taught me a lot of things, most importantly that you never meet a stranger. I have and will miss those times together. He was and always will be my friend. I love you James and always will.
