Obituary of David Wayne Conkle Sr

David Wayne Conkle Sr., 50, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2017.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne Conkle and Zelma Pitcox; and sister, Tina Duran.  David is survived by his loving wife, Julie Conkle; sons, Brian Beeler and wife, Ashley, David Conkle Jr., Justin Conkle; daughters, Vivien Conkle, Celine Conkle; brother, Ricky Conkle; sisters, Lenda Coleman, Jessie Wood, Kathy Stevenson, Fay Gifford, Emma Larsen, Tammy Brasuel; grandchildren, Rosie Beeler, Liam Gimperlein, Amara Beeler; and a host of other family and dear friends.

David served proudly in the United States Army for 22 years. He lived in Germany where 3 of his children were born and he would often speak in German just to confuse people. His sense of humor and sarcasm is one of his many characteristics that will live on forever. David enjoyed woodworking and watching action, adventure, and superhero movies. He was patient, generous, kind, and would help anyone in need. He was Mr. Fix-It around the house and even designed a secret room. He loved many things such as dancing, working at Technip Umbilical, and dressing his dogs Smokey and Stormy in Halloween costumes, but most of all he loved his family. He was so thrilled when three of his children moved to Texas to live with him and cried when his grandchildren were born.  David will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Services for David will be held at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581.  The visitation will take place Monday, October 30, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm and the funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 10:00 am with Pastor Keith Anderson officiating.  Following the services, interment will take place at Alvin Confederate Cemetery in Alvin, Texas.
