Ms. Miller was my librarian at MacGregor Elementary in the middle 60's to early 70's. I remember her as lover of book and reading who encouraged her students to do the same. My heartfelt condolences are extended to her family.
Warm Regards,
Joyce Taylor Johnson

I’d always run into Ms Miller in H-E-B, most recently about a month ago, she was recovering from hip surgery. Ms Miller was special to my family and treated all of us as family that had he pleasure of knowing her at Mac Gregor. She will be missed dearly.

Ms. Miller will always be a hero in my book. During my formative years at MacGregor, she was my very first librarian and made reading seem exciting, colorful and interactive! I can still see her in my mind's eye, encouraging us to press in closely as she illuminated children's stories by drawing us in with her many expressions of mystery, warmth and humor! I really looked up to her. As a result, I have always enjoyed visiting the library and still read as often as I can. To show you her positive impact, one summer while still a student of hers I read 108 books in a public library program! Later in college, I worked in a library for a few years, and after college contemplated doing a Masters of Library Science, just because. I'm an engineer now, and also a father who STILL frequents the library with my two young daughters. I strongly attribute my love of books to her great teaching style and will forever be grateful for her contributions. Best wishes and I'll keep your family in my prayers.
Respectfully,
Jabari Craft and family

Ikie was a wonderful woman, so kind, caring, fun, and funny. She was the BEST storyteller. Ikie was my mom's best friend, and one of my favorite things was to hear her tell stories, especially about when they were young. I loved going to Houston and visiting with Ikie. I stayed with her many times, both with my mom and on my own when going to Houston to visit my grandma. When I went by myself, Ikie would pick me up at the airport, drive me to visit my grandma and make sure I was taken care of. When I became an elementary school teacher she took me to her storage space and picked out some of her favorite books for me to bring back to my classroom. I had so many fun times with Ikie and my family and I will miss her so much. My condolences to her family. I loved her very much.

Ikie was a most unique individual! I met her in 1976 at MacGregor Elementary School where we worked together for several years. She knew her subject , but above all was a genuine, caring woman. I am proud to call her a friend. We had lunch together last summer ..... she never changed . Praise God from whom all blessings flow. And Ikie Miller was a blessing.

Dear Ikie Miller was a friend and neighbor of mine for so many years I cannot count them. She served on the Board of Directors of our condominium association, with joy and dedication. Kind to all and happy to help, Ikie was respected and loved by many. She is in heaven.
