Kelly Graham McKinney, 63, of Lake Jackson, Texas passed away on November 25, 2017. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, George “Boggs” and Edith McKinney, parents, William Steele and Shirley McKinney, and wife, Mary Plumlee McKinney. Left to cherish Kelly’s memory are his son, Graham McKinney and wife Shauna, brother, Robert Steele McKinney and wife Kathy, granddaughter, Audrey Claire “Little One” McKinney and a host of other family and friends.
Kelly was born in Austin, Texas on November 10, 1954. He grew up in the Sun Oil Camp near McAllen, Texas as a child and absolutely loved it. He moved to Garland, Texas and attended Garland High School where he met his loving wife Mary Plumlee. Kelly worked in the oilfields of East and West Texas all his life. He retired in 2015 and moved to Lake Jackson to be with his family, where he loved spending time riding motorcycles, and watching westerns with his son Graham. Kelly was affectionately known as PooPaw by his “Little One,” Audrey. He absolutely loved being a grandfather.
Services will be held Saturday, December 2 at 3 PM, at Forest Home Baptist Church, 15746 Co Rd 173 North, Kilgore, TX 75662.
