Obituary of Ruby Inez Vineyard

Ruby Inez Vineyard, 93, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018.  She is preceded in death by her mother Minnie Bell Price, her father Sam Hale, her loving husband, Wyrie Vineyard, daughter, Paula Jordan, five brothers and four sisters.  Ruby is survived by her daughter, Lynette Pitts and husband, Terry; son-in law, Clark Jordan, grandchildren, Clark Jordan Jr, and wife, Heather, Jennifer Jordan Achor and husband, Tim, Kim Cooke; great grandchildren, Kathleen Crook and husband, Matt, Caroline Cooke, Chloe Jordan, Ava Barcelo, Sophia Barcelo, Camie Jordan; and a host of other family and dear friends.

Ruby was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother that was devoted to her family; including her beloved pets.  She loved cooking for her family and according to them was one of the best cooks in Texas.  Ruby inherited the nickname “Racing Ruby” because she often times was known for her lead foot.  She was strong in her faith and was active in many church activities.  Ruby was a staunch supporter of her Democratic Party.  Her front door was always open to friends who could stop by at 4 pm for a cup of coffee, a heated card game of Shanghai or if it was after 9 pm, they could enjoy a hot toddy and a Larry King Live episode.  Ruby will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Services for Ruby will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581.  The visitation will be held from 10:00 until 11:00 am and the funeral service will follow beginning at 11:00 am with Rev. Dr. Keith Whitaker officiating.  Interment will take place at Midfield Cemetery in Midfield, Texas.
