Obituary of Tanieka Shavonne Emmitt

Tanieka Shavonne Emmitt, 34, of Houston, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Left to cherish her memory is her mother and step-father Sarah and Jonathan Mayfield, grandmother Lovie Harbert, sisters Deleana Anderson, Terrie Emmitt, Deandrea Emmitt and a host of many other family and friends.

Tanieka enjoyed music, listening to the TV and hearing people speak to her. She was affectionately known as “Meme Sha” to her family. You could amuse her by making funny noises and sounds. She loved listening to the dog bark. Although Tanieka could not see or speak, she had acute hearing and her own way of making conversation with her family. She was a blessing and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A visitation for Tanieka will be held at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581, on Saturday, January 20, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a graveside service to follow at Houston Memorial Gardens.
