Obituary of Robert Francis Brennan
Robert Francis Brennan (Bob), 64, passed away Friday, January 26, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Frances Brennan; and brother, John Brennan. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 37 years, Kathleen Brennan; daughters, Mary Brennan and fiancé, Ryan Johnson, Emily Brennan and husband, John Penland, Kerry Ann Brennan; brother, Thomas Brennan; sisters, Cathleen Brennan, Ann Cook and husband, Thomas, Mary Fitzgerald and husband, Jerry; granddaughters, Abigail Brennan and Kathryn Penland; and a host of other family and dear friends.
Bob loves his family more than anything and lived his life for all of them. He was raised in California but moved to Houston at age 18 and became a Texas man through and through. He was a hardworking man, making his living in the field of construction. People often said Bob would give you the shirt off his back and he never met a stranger. He along with his dog, Trooper, was an avid hunter and fisherman. In recent years, he particularly loved his annual Salmon fishing trips to Alaska. Bob was a master of the BBQ with award winning brisket and ribs. For many years he built competition BBQ pits of all sizes by hand. He found immense joy and pride in growing fruits and vegetables for his family and thoroughly enjoyed cooking for friends and family on special occasions. He was an amazing handy man and there was no job that he could not tackle. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bob always wanted to celebrate the good times and the joys of life. To honor those wishes the family will hold a Celebration of Life Party on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Joe’s Banquet Center, 1300 East Hwy 6, Alvin, Texas 77511. The attire is casual and fun (if you have an outfit that reminds you of Bob, please wear it and bring a story!) All toasts and tributes to Bob are welcome. Fajitas and beer will be provided, but if you prefer wine or liquor you may bring your own.
In lieu of flowers please donate to the CCA (Costal Conservation Association). Bob was a part of the CCA for many years, this is a cause near and dear to his heart.
