Obituary of James William Holston

James William Holston passed away peacefully with his wife by his side February 5, 2018 at Harbour Hospice in Houston, Texas.  He was born September 21, 1953 in Jackson, Mississippi and is preceded in death by his parents, Anna Holston and James Ottis Holston; and younger brother, Ricky W. Holston.

James went to work for the Jackson Zoo as an elephant trainer in 1970 and moved to Circus World in Florida to continue his career in 1980.  He later followed his chosen path at San Diego Wild Animal Park, Audubon Zoo in New Orleans, Louisiana and Houston Zoo and later Houston Animal Control. James dedicated his career to the care of animals and to the teaching of the same.

He was loved and respected by his many friends.   James is survived by his wife, Patricia “Tudda” Wolcott.
