Virginia was a remarkable woman whose passion and commitment to advocacy for those less able to speak for themselves influenced so many of us. I regret I did not learn of her death in time to pay my respects in person, but want her family to know how much I valued knowing her. Though we had not seen each other for the several years, our friendship started more than forty years ago and her influence on me continues to this day. Please know she is remembered with admiration and affection.

My deepest sympathy to the Earnisse family. When I went through the loss of my father a scripture that brought me comfort is Isaiah 41:10 . There God tells us " I will fortify you " and promises " I will really hold on to you with my right hand ". May the God of all comfort be with you at this difficult time.

My condolences to Virginia's many family and friends. Although it has been many years since I have seen her, she had such a shaping influence on me professionally and personally. I know I am one of many in that regard. She will be missed. May you all find a peace that passes understanding.

Virginia was truly an amazing advocate, mentor and friend. She was a driving influence for my professional career, striving to do the right thing for others no matter the cost. She has truly left a legacy that will take all of us to carry on. We will all miss her dearly, but will have treasured memories of trying to figure out how many hoops you would have to jump through in order to get done what she had asked and expected of you. May she rest in peace and enjoy the company of her many family, friends and advocates that now reside with her. May God be with you her family during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

What sad news reached me today - and was a sad loss for Virginia's family, her many friends, her fellow advocates, and the countless people whose lives are better because Virginia Eernisse not only deeply cared, but fearlessly took action and led so effectively. I was truly blessed to know her and I will always not only remember her, but forever be inspired by her lifelong example of serving others with compassion, understanding, determination, and love.
God bless you Virginia, and I hope we meet again someday, someway.

Virginia will always have a place in my heart and in my life. I'm glad she is with Donald now - although I imagine she will be chatting with Ann, Lou, Moon and other who have gone before her.
I'll miss her so much.

Ms. Virginia was a force to be reckoned with!!! She helped me with my daughter's ARD's meeting & was a wealth of information for the Special Needs community. No worry about anyone forgetting her....she lives on through her love & efforts for our "special" community. She will be missed! May your memories sustain you as you say good-bye.
