Obituary of Ruby Imogene Wendorf

Ruby Imogene Wendorf, 95, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 11, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Albert Wendorf. Ruby is survived by her children, Carol Klappenbach and her husband Richard, Janis Pulliam and her husband Harry, and Mark Wendorf and his wife Dawn; grandchildren, Justin Wendorf and his wife Elise, Kathryn, Daniel, and Bryan Pulliam; and her great grandchildren Elliot and Chandler Wendorf.

Ruby was born in Wilmer, Texas on November 24, 1922 to Rosa and Julius Tresp. After high school, she worked as a teletype operator and a secretary. She was a skilled pianist and loved knitting, crocheting, and solving crossword puzzles. She met the love of her life, Leroy, while he was stationed at Brooks Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, and they married on November 1, 1942. Together, they raised three children, and Ruby was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She loved God and was a member of Christ the Lord Lutheran Church. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate that she is now at peace with her creator.

Visitation for Ruby will be at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W Broadway, Pearland, Texas, on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held with Pastor Abram Degner officiating on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will immediately follow at Houston National Cemetery in Houston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ruby’s name to Holly Hall Retirement Community, 2000 Holly Hall, Houston, Texas 77054, 713-799-9031.
