Obituary of Larry Latrell Boyd

Larry Latrell Boyd, 73, of Pearland, Texas, passed away July 5, 2018, after a long battle with cancer. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alma Howard and Vernon L. Boyd, and sister Joyce Eilers and his wife Cheryl Mattson Boyd. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Kelly Wells Boyd; sons Derek Boyd and wife Carrie, Trent Boyd and wife Sarah; his sisters, Dianne Sheffield and Vonna Pinney and husband Robert; grandchildren, Bailey and Hannah Boyd; and a host of other family and dear friends.

Larry traveled the world during his over 30-year career at Exxon.  He was a Vietnam Veteran, having served in the U.S. Airforce.  Larry had a lifelong passion for planes and flying, unofficially soloing at 13. Larry also enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time outdoors. Larry had been a Mason since 1975. He was a member of ParkPlace, CF Spencer lodges, Scottish Rite and Shriners. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the MD Anderson Cancer Center PO Box 4486, Houston, TX  77210-4486.

A visitation and memorial services for Larry will take place at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581, on Thursday, July 19, 2018. The visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. and the service will start at 6:00 p.m.
