Obituary of Margaret Thelma Riviello

It is with sadness that the family of Margaret Goldy Riviello announces her passing on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at the age of 98 years. A native of New Jersey, Margaret was born in Camden.  She was the only child of Paul and Frances Goldy. She was married for 50 years to Dr. James J Riviello of Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He preceded her in death. She was a devoted and loving daughter, wife and mother. Her children, Jim, Eileen, Susan, and Angelo lovingly remember her. Margaret adored her two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Peter, who have fond memories of her as well.

She met her husband in Camden at Broadway Methodist Church. They worked side by side in his family medical practice until he retired in 1993. Margaret loved to be surrounded by her family and friends. Her house was an open door to church gatherings, parties, and friends. In her later years, she was an enthusiastic traveller. But her favorite place was Ocean City, NJ where she spent many summers. She wanted to go to Ocean City this summer.

At the age of 85, Margaret moved with her daughter and son in law to Pearland TX where she lived many full years in the company of new friends and family. When her son and daughter in law also moved to Houston, her family then surrounded her. Throughout her life, Margaret had a deep and abiding faith. She was particularly grateful for the friends God brought to her when she moved to Texas.

A Celebration of Margaret ’s life will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 3:00 p.m., at the Clayton Funeral Home. There is a viewing at 2 pm.  In lieu of flowers, those who so desire may make memorial donations to Fellowship Bible Church, 1720 Broadway, Pearland TX.
