Obituary of Daniel Brambila Tostado

Please share a memory of Daniel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Daniel Brambila Tostado, of Pearland, formerly of Friendswood TX, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018 at the age of 74 years.  He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-five years, Janice Marie Tostado and his three children (with then wife Lynn): Danny Tostado and partner Bridgett Widacki of Cypress; Jeffrey Tostado and wife Tiffany of San Antonio; and Esteban Tostado and partner Rossanna Perales of San Antonio.  Daniel also has two step children: Clayton Myers and fiancé Kimberly Kidd of Webster; and Christy Myers of Houston.  Daniel has seven grandchildren:  Warner, Ryan, Rylie, Jacob, Madison, Katelyn, and Aubree.  Daniel is survived by his sisters: Diana C. Morris and Bill Morris of Dallas; Gloria Tostado Hann and her husband Christian of Dallas; Evangelina Hammonds and her son Adam of Houston; Martha R. Sparks and her husband Richard and son Brian of Houston; his brothers Ernest Tostado and sons Nicolas and Jared of Houston; and Joseph Tostado, also of Houston.

Daniel was one of seven children born to Daniel and Carmen Tostado in Ameca, Jalisco, Mexico on December 23, 1943.  At the age of five years, Daniel and his parents permanently relocated to Texas and settled in Friendswood.  Daniel grew up on a ranch and learned ranch life first hand.  He attended elementary through high school in Friendswood, where he graduated with a class of seven students in 1962.  He attended the University of Houston but wanted to serve his country at a time of great need, so Daniel enlisted in the U.S. Air Force.  For a time, he was stationed overseas during the Vietnam War.  He served honorably during his military commitment and always maintained respect and appreciation for his country, his fellow veterans, his family and his many friends.

Daniel eventually returned to his home town area and at one point followed in his father’s footsteps by managing an equestrian center and ranch. Later he pursued other business interests which included various sales/management positions in Houston and Dallas, serving many years in the heavy equipment industry.

Dan never met a stranger and had a passion for his family and friends.  He lived a robust life, had a great sense of humor and loved telling a good story. While he did have a serious side, he will always be remembered for his laughter, generosity, and smiles.

Daniel and Janice are members of Sagemont Church in Houston and have many church friends as well as neighborhood friends.
