Obituary of Bonnie JB Schultea
Bonnie JB Schultea, 70, passed away Monday, September 10, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents, James Edward Sandlin and Eula Mae (Carter) Sandlin. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Thomas Schultea and wife, Lisamarie, and David Schultea; daughter, Darla Hubbard and husband, Matthew; sisters, Arlene Weave, Evelyn Sandlin, and Linda Northum; grandchildren, Samantha Leihsing and husband, Travis, Brandon Hubbard, Annabell Schultea and Joey Schultea; great granddaughter, Faith Adalynn; and a host of other family and dear friends.
Bonnie attended art school before she started working for the Houston Post and the Houston Chronicle as a commercial artist. She was an artist in the truest sense of the word. She could see the beauty in almost everything she saw. Bonnie could see beauty in a Storm just off the coast or the potential of an abandon house. In her mind’s eye she could see what it should look like. She was one of the original ‘house flippers’. While raising three young kids she bought a broken-down house and did 90% of the repair work. She taught her children how to hang sheetrock, shingle a roof, level the house and repair broken plumbing.
Bonnie was strong woman of God having accepted the lord as her savior when she was a teenager. She had an anointed Banner praise ministry and that brought joy to those around her and performed at various events and churches. Bonnie never met a stranger and was always available to help others in need.
She loved to travel visiting England, Spain, and Morocco. While in England, Bonnie discovered her love of painting landscapes and architecture in London and surrounding villages. She loved old movies with Cary Grant and Doris Day and shared that love with her grandkids. Bonnie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
