I am so deeply saddened by the tragic loss of my dear friend Karl. I just found out about this tragic event although it happened almost 3 years ago. I met Karl in 2008 and it was a pleasure knowing him and meeting his family in Houston and we took a trip to NYC back in 2010 to meet more of his family members and we had an amazing time. My heart goes out to Jermaine, Kristy and his two grandchildren, Egypt and Xavier; as well as his beautiful siblings, relatives and his friends especially those who I met who he regularly played cards with. Karl's light will continue to shine as he was a beautiful man with a kind presence who never met a stranger. He will be sorely missed. Peace, blessings and love to all.

I met Karl 31 years ago and can attest to his kind, gentle spirit and fun ways. Karl was my friend, my client, my colleague in the mortgage industry and a great guy with a wonderful sense of humor and personality. Through him, I got to know his wife Monica and daughter Kristy. He loved his family and was loyal to his friends.
Although, I am saddened by his sudden tragic death, I rejoice in knowing he was a Christian and scripture tells us that to be absent in the body is to be present with God.
May God bless and comfort Monica, his children and grandchildren, his siblings, loved ones, and extended family and friends.
RIH Karl!

I did not have the pleasure of knowing Mr. Karl Gomez although my father Mr. Russell Patton knew him and had very fond memories of him as a kind-hearted, laid back, fun loving great guy, father Brother and son. I had the pleasure of knowing his dear sister Jennifer Gomez and she is one sweet special lady. Very kind and caring just like her loving brother. May peace of God and comfort be with you all during this difficult time. Rest In Peace sweet Karl Gomez. You will never be forgotten.
Love Always,

We were devastated to hear of Karl’s death. A friend of more than 30+ years, a man with a gentle soul, calm, kind, funny and a great handyman. We don’t know when nor how we will leave this earth only God knows, but we can’t help but to feel robbed of the opportunity to say good-bye as his life was stolen so suddenly.
To Karl’s family we hope it brings you comfort knowing that he was loved by many. May care and love of those around you provide comfort and peace to you through the days ahead.
Our condolences to the family,
Kendall Boone and Linda Hunt

I did not know Mr. Karl however I worked with his sister Ms. Lystra Toyloy for many years. However after reading the tributes to Mr. Karl and family, I feel as if I know him now. It seems if you knew one sibling, you know the other....truly keen spirited family. Ms. Toyloy is much like her brother. And my heart is heavy for her because when someone you care about is hurting you tend to hurt as well. However, because of the Love of God the family has for each other will definately let his spirit live on forever. Ms. Toyloy, my continued prayer for your strength. Love you. My deepest condolences to the entire family.
REST IN HEAVEN MR. KARL
In Sympathy, Monica Tyler

Karl was my friend for over 15 years. We played poker every week together and I will truly miss him leaning over in my shoulder and whispering "Did you see that." Karl was very handy around the house fixing things and I have many memories of him just walking around my home and remembering all the things he fixed, painted or repaired. May you rest in peace my friend.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this tribute to my friend Karl...such an uncalled for and totally unnecessary tragedy. We just had lunch a week before I left for Jamaica in August, and we talked about him coming to visit for a month in January. At the time of lunch, I thought he would be coming on this present trip...such is life...and then we ask ourselves, what is life, when it can be so easily taken away, with no warning at all.
We pray that Karl is at peace with our Lord, and we will miss him dearly. We pray that his children, grand children, and the rest of his family will remember him kindly, and as the free spirit he was.
Rest In Peace my friend! Until we meet again!

To my co-worker Kristy and to the friends and family of her father, Karl,
I only know of Karl's spirit through Kristy; and if his best qualities are represented in his daughter, I can only know him to be a kind-hearted, thoughtful, smart and hard-working man.
I send all my condolences and sympathy to Kristy and her family and all of Karl's friends. His spirit lives on in all of you.

To my loving brother,
Gone but will never be forgotten.
Till the shades lengthen and the evening comes
And the busy world is hushed
And the fever of life is over
And your work is done,
Then in His mercy, may he give you safe lodging
And a holy rest and peace at last.
Amen.
Let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.
From your loving sister, Linda, your nephews and their families..with much love.

"Karl was my first cousin, the son of my aunt, Sylvia and my uncle-in-law Neville.
It will be hard to find a more amenable person. He loved his family, and we are all very sad for the way in which he died. May his soul rest in peace in the arms of our loving Savior Jesus Christ and his Blessed Mother Mary. I believe that his parents will be waiting to welcome him to his eternal home."

I have known Karl and family for over 30 years and we have celebrated many life events together as friends and family. This is a tragic, senseless loss of a Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and friend. But as the bible says..to everything there is a season, a time. RIP Karl!
Praying that God would strengthen, comfort the family during this time and the months and years to come. God's word say...My peace I give to you and not one of the world. Love you all!

Karl was my loving first cousin, being the son of Sylvia, my aunt. Carmen Batson was my mother. Kalr was the sweetest man I knew. Whenever I came to Texas he would come and pick me up at the airport and we would lime (a Trinidad term for hanging out) together. His concerns for others was legendary and his deep love and feelings for his immediate and extended families were well known.
We will miss him. I am sorry that I cannot attend his funeral ceremony since I am in Trinidad, West Indies. But I will miss his love, his warmth and family feelings that he always exuberated,
In loving memory, Cuz
