Sher Burr
June 13, 1949 - February 03, 2010
Linda Sherian Persons Burr, 60, went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on February 3rd, 2010. Born in South Houston, Texas on June 13th, 1949 to William Melvin Persons and Cora Storey Persons. She is preceded in death by her father, as well as her sister Geneva Gayle Persons. She is survived by her mother, as well as her daughter Nicole James Peters, son Kyle Gavin Burr, her son-in-law Blair Peters, and her daughter-in-law Lisa Rodriguez. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: Quinn and Reagan Peters, and Sofia and Olivia Burr. Sher grew up in South Houston and graduated from South Houston High School in 1967. She went on to work for almost 40 years as an optician, most recently at Pasadena Vision Center. She enjoyed collecting vintage tin-type photographs from the Civil War, loved antiques, cats, and reminiscing about her youth in the 60’s. She had a bubbly personality, and will be missed by so many.
Visitation with the family will be Saturday, February 6th from 9am-10am at Zion Lutheran Church of Pasadena located at 5050 East Sam Houston Pkwy South (between Crenshaw and Preston). A service will follow at 10am officiated by Pastor Dave Sawhill (whom Sher greatly admired, loved, and respected). In lieu of usual remembrances donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church of Pasadena's Emergency Fund. Sher was greatly helped by Zion's emergency fund in the past, and she would have been very happy to know that she was able to repay that in some little way.
Sher will be laid to rest in her family's plot at Salem Cemetery in Teague, Texas next to her daddy, sister, and granny later in the day on February 6th.
