Obituary of Denise Agema

Denise (Monthei) Agema of Pearland, passed away on January 20, 2010. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Jim Agema; daughter, Dawn Peveto & her husband Paul; stepdaughter, Heather Packenham & her husband Dave; stepson, Shawn Gross; brother, Gary Monthei & his wife Margaret; stepbrother, Jack Martine & his wife Susan; and grandchildren, Cody, Sealy, Justin, Brennan, Emily & Grace; and stepdad, “Pop” Carroll Kuhlman. She is preceded in death by her parents, Odell & Katy (Ives) Monthei.
Denise was born on March 21, 1956 in Hillsboro, Texas and resided in the Houston area since 1988. She worked for the Pearland Police Department for 17 years as the Chief of Police Secretary. In her spare time, Denise enjoyed her friendship and fishing with Deanna. She also enjoyed spending time by the pool, cooking in her kitchen, or reading on her back patio. She often had long conversations with her childhood friend Cindy while they were coloring each other’s hair or watching Monday night TV together. Denise and Patty were friends for many years and enjoyed working together at the Pearland Police Department. Denise and Susan became neighbors first and friends for more than twenty years helping and watching out for one another. Denise adored her grandkids who affectionately called her “Granny”. She was also a cat and dog lover and enjoyed her animals. Denise was a giver who was always doing and thinking of others. She will always be remembered for her strong sense of faith and the strength she brought to her family.
A Celebration of Denise’s Life will be held on January 23, 2010 at 11:00 am in the Clayton Chapel. Pastor Keith Anderson of New Harvest Christian Fellowship will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Harvest Christian Fellowship Youth Department, 12216 West Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77584.
