Linda Jean (Everett) Davis
December 22, 1943 - April 29, 2012
Linda was born on December 22, 1943 to Juanita Alice (Woodward) Everett and Thomas Jefferson Everett in Temple, Texas. She graduated from Temple High School, and went to work immediately for AT&T. She later worked for Dr. Joe Mock, Jr., and then began her 29 year career with Dow Chemical as a Logistics Planner. Linda retired from Dow two years ago.
When she was just eighteen years old, she met the man who had been waiting on her all of her life. She would not go out with him, but he was persistent, and Linda Jean married Autry Earl Davis on April 27, 1964. They raised two children, and Linda was an utterly devoted Mom, serving tirelessly in Cub Scout and Brownie Troops, and with the little league Drill Team.
As the kids and her career grew, she also grew into the role of constant caregiver. Linda took care of Autry's parents, then her own mother and brother, in addition to being a safe "landing spot" for her children and beloved nieces whenever needed. She gave of herself freely and constantly, and that brought her joy.
Most recently, Linda enjoyed remodeling and updating her home, bringing stunning gardens to life, traveling and visiting with friends.
"What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others." Linda Jean Davis wove her loving kindness through the lives of many. She was a true gift, and we celebrate that we were lucky enough to share each of the days we had with her.
I love you, little mommy. -Dina
