Obituary of Don Dingle

Don Dingle December 10, 1927 - April 16, 2008 Billy Don Dingle, longtime resident of the Bayshore area, died at his home in Shoreacres Wednesday, April 16 after a long illness. He was born in Trent, Texas on December 10, 1927 to Byron and Opal Dingle who preceded him in death. Following graduation from La Porte High School in 1946, he served his country in the U.S. Navy. He attended the University of Houston before beginning a 37 year career with Rohm and Haas Texas, Deer Park; retiring in 1988. A quiet man of honesty and integrity, respected by all who knew him. He is survived by a large and loving family, his beloved wife of 38 years, the former Patsy Mayfield, children Donald Dingle of Mesquite, TX, Dennis Dingle and wife Ramie of Frisco, TX, Darwin Dingle and wife Kelly, DeLayne Reichman and husband Jay, Danny Morrow, Cindy Heckert and husband Donny, all of the La Porte area, sisters Wanda Byus, Jeannine Parker and husband Guinn, sister in-law Libby Brown, and brother in-law Pat Mayfield, grandchildren Dustin Dingle, Derek Johnson, David Dingle, Tyler Heckert, Donald Wayne Dingle, Dylan Dingle, Dalton Dingle, Brittany Dingle, Jessica Hankemeier and Michael, Madison Morrow, and Great Grandson Carter Hankemeier. Visitation will be held Friday April 18, 2008 at 6-8 PM at Paul U. Lee La Porte Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Saturday April 19, 2008 at 11 AM at First Baptist Church of La Porte, where he and his family have been members for many years, interment will follow at Grand View Memorial Park.
