Obituary of Russell Applebe

Russell Applebe March 06, 1953 - September 22, 2013 Russell Applebe, 60, of Morgan’s Point, Texas passed away on September, 22nd, 2013. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on March 6th, 1953 to Edward and Colleen Applebe. He is preceded in death by his Mother and brother Jimmy. Russell is survived by his wife Angela Applebe, children Jason Applebe and wife Yvonne, Jared Applebe and wife Melissa, Jamison Applebe, Jordan Applebe, and also Jordan Mason, siblings Colleen Hicks and husband Michael, Mabe Applebe and wife Lyn, father Edward and wife Nancy, grandchildren Madison and Jackson. Pallbearers will be Michel Bechtel, Scott Fleming, David Paulissen, Charles Niederhofer, Jesse Moore, Doug Latimer, and honorary pallbearer C.J. Mire. Russell graduated from La Porte High School in 1971 and later attended East Central State in Ada, Oklahoma and Sam Houston State in Huntsville, Texas. He was a long time member of the Missouri Street Church of Christ, past Master of La Porte Masonic Lodge #857 AF&AM, on the Morgan’s’ Point City Council from 1986-1992, Morgan’s Point Mayor from 1992-2003, past President of Harris County Mayors & Council Association, and past President and very active for years with Bulldog Booster Club. Visitation will be Thursday September 26th, 2013 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Paul U. Lee Funeral Home. Services will be held at First Baptist Church of La Porte on Friday September 27th, 2013 at 10:00AM with a Masonic graveside service to follow at Morgan’s Point Cemetery. There will be a luncheon immediately following the Masonic ceremony at the Morgan’s Point Community Center.
