Graveside Service Thursday, Feb 15, 2018 12:00 PM Melrose D Dupre July 03, 1933 - February 11, 2018 Melrose was a witty, strong willed, tough as nails woman, who was considered a “Coonass With No Reverse!” She loved family gatherings, especially celebrating Easter time and Christmas. Melrose started her working career in the 60s as the first licensed female weigh master at LouAnna Foods. Worked at Standard Fittings for a short time. Then at Courvelle Toyota, while attending night college to receive her realtor license. Started her own company, Opelousas Real Estate Exchange. Was President of the American Business Women’s Association, during her time as a Realtor. She is proceeded in death by her Brother Jimmy Dupre, Son Michael Dennis Bellard & Grand-daughter Brandi Bellard. She is survived by her children; Joseph & Sheila Mae Dupre, Maggie & Rick Gilley, Stephanie & Steve Hisle, Charles ‘Chuck’ & Elizabeth Veillon, 16 Grand-children, 12 Great-grandchildren, her siblings: Ron Dupre, Frances Weber, Glenn Dupre and Martin Dupre. Funeral services at Sibilles Funeral Home. Viewing Feb 15 2018, between 9am & Noon. Burial at Bellevue Cemetery
