Peggy Boaz Elliott

Peggy Boaz Elliott, born November 4, 1918, passed away peacefully October 17, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband Larry Elliott and her daughter Victoria Elliott. Mrs. Elliott is survived by her daughter Stephanie Elliott and by her grandsons Cary Coughlin, Brandon Elliott, and Devon Elliott. She is also survived by Suzanne Cotton and Didi Szafran of Clear Lake. Peggy served proudly in the United States Marine Corps during World War II, and was one of the first women Marines. Peggy became a pilot in the late 1940’s and continued flying well into her late 60s. She had several careers in her lifetime: she was a schoolteacher, a business owner, and a real estate agent. Peggy led a proud and courageous life and will be missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank Peggy’s special hospice nurse, Chris Tyson, R.N. of Vitas Hospice who, like Peggy, served proudly in the United States Marine Corps. Special thanks also go to her Hospice Aide, Nikki, and the entire Vitas staff on Team 532 and the staff of In Patient Unit. A graveside service will be held Friday October 22, 2010 at 10AM at Grand View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers; the family requests donations be made to Vitas Innovative Hospice, 18333 Egret Bay Blvd., Suite 550, Houston, TX 77058.
