Mark Charles Evans, 66, of La Porte, Texas passed away on Monday, January 4, 2016. He was born to Charles and Madelyn (Pegge) Evans in Des Moines, Iowa on May 9, 1949.
Mark was a railroad man, horse enthusiast, Royal Arch Mason, Shriner, husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
As a proud member of the 101st Airborne, Mark served his country in Vietnam, where he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious achievement in ground operations against hostile forces.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 45 years, Reba, daughter Meridith Halbardier (husband Michael), daughter Margo Evans, grandsons Lucas and Evan Halbardier, brothers Robert (wife Linda), Scott and Randy, and sister Julie Pless and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation is Wednesday January 13, 2016 from 5:30pm to 7pm at First Untied Methodist Church of La Porte with memorial service at 7pm. Internment is Thursday January 14, 2016 at 10:30am at Houston National Cemetery.
