Obituary of Nelda Ann Freeman

Nelda Ann Freeman December 07, 1932 - December 08, 2010 Nelda Ann Shannon Freeman, 78, of La Porte passed away Wednesday December 8, 2010. She was born December 7, 1932 in Baytown, Texas to Klein Hill Shannon and Elma Frances Sanders Shannon. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and was a former member of the La Porte Police Wives’ Association. Nelda also loved to paint. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Klein Cochran “Sonny” Shannon, and sister Frances Shannon Lander. Nelda is survived by her husband Herbert Franklin Freeman, Jr. of La Porte, they were married on May 12, 1950 and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary earlier this year. She is also survived by sons Donald Terry Freeman and wife Suzzi of Baytown, Morris Wayne Freeman and wife Becky of La Porte, grandchildren Donald Freeman, Steven Freeman and wife Sherry, Jason Freeman and wife Holly, Kevin Freeman and wife Kim, Schaun Freeman and wife Courtney, Joshua Freeman, Wade Greathouse and wife Kim, Paula Inman, Christian Greathouse, great grandchildren Emily Freeman, Graham Freeman, Madison Freeman, Abigail Freeman, Brooke Freeman, Laren Freeman, Brody Freeman, Joshua Lee Freeman, Bailey Freeman, Tisa Freeman, Kaiden Freeman, Tylor Freeman, Braden Freeman, Alexis Greathouse, Kara Greathouse, Garrett Ralph, Kole Wooster, Taylor James Wooster, sisters Billie Jo Shultz, Donna Rae Shannon, and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. Visitation will be held Friday December 10, 2010 at 6-8PM at Paul U. Lee La Porte Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Saturday December 11, 2010 at 10AM at the funeral home as well.
