Obituary of Genevieve Catherine Friend

Genevieve Catherine Friend May 06, 1913 - January 08, 2008 Genevieve Friend of La Porte passed away January 8, 2008 in Deer Park. She was born May 6, 1913 in Macomb, Illinois to Clyde and Mary Nester. Genevieve was a member of the Houston Cactus Club, Space City Hibiscus Chapter, and a founding member of the La Porte Garden Club,45 years as an Educator “Teaching was her Life” ranging from college English to primary and secondary school and substituting for LPISD long after her retirement. She is preceded in death by her husband Clarence Friend. She is survived by sons John Friend and Patti, Roger Friend, sister Joanne Zeller, brother Frank Nester, grandchildren Thomas Friend, Gary Friend and Sammi, Steven Friend and Jodi, and 6 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Monday January 14, 2008 at 6-8 PM at Paul U. Lee La Porte Funeral Home Chapel.
