John Alvin Gant August 21, 1932 - March 22, 2009 John Alvin Gant, 76, of La Porte passed away Sunday March 22, 2009. He was born August 21, 1932 in Carroll County, Mississippi to Irene and Bilbo Gant. Mr. Gant worked as a Carpenter for many years. He is survived by wife Jessie Gant, children Frances Studdard and Allan of Austin, TX, Cyndie Graves and Rick of Baytown, TX, Johnny Gant of Jonesville, LA, Ray Granade and Janet of Houston, TX, Clint Gant and Miki of Alpine, TX, Adrienne Mantzel of Baytown, TX, Jason Gant Alpine, TX, sister Artie Oakes of Tchula, MS, brothers Robert Gant of Tchula, MS, Toby Gant of Kilmichael, MS, 15 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Tuesday March 24, 2009 at 5-7 PM at Paul U. Lee La Porte Funeral Home. Services will be held March 25, 2009 at 11 AM at the funeral home, with interment following at La Porte Cemetery.
