Obituary of Joe Gold

Joe Gold January 02, 1936 - September 24, 2009 Joe Gold, of La Porte, passed away Thursday September 24, 2009. He was born January 2, 1936 in Borden, Texas to Eleanora and Edward Gold. Joe was a very active, long time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He was also very involved in many committees of the Cities of La Porte and Shoreacres, the Local IBEW #527, the La Porte Cemetery Association, and was on the Board of Directors at Bay Pointe Townhomes. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother David Gold. Joe is survived by his wife Karen "Kay" Gold, children Theresa Nowetner and husband Ron, Julie Andersen and husband Doyle,Stephen Gold and wife Renee, sister Barbara Bily and husband Albert, and grandchildren Casey Nowetner, Eric Nowetner, David Nowetner, Stephanie Andersen, and Fallon Andersen. Visitation will be held Sunday September 27, 2009 at 5PM, with a rosary beginning at 7PM, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of La Porte. Services will be held Monday September 28, 2009 at 10AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church also, with interment at La Porte Cemetery. In lieu of usual remembrances, donations may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church Rosary Hall, 816 Park Ave., La Porte, TX 77571.
