Jack Gresham, 86, was born in Sacul, Texas on September 10, 1922 to J.D. Gresham and Mary Ether Fuller. He is preceded in death by his daughter Donna Lynn McBride. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Doris Gresham, his daughter Jackie Gresham, his son-in-law and his wife, Bill and Sharron McBride, his four grandchildren and their spouses, Jay and Magda McBride, Jack and Debbie McBride, Krista and Chester Labus, and Will Cocanougher, he was the beloved great grandfather of Jake McBride, Jett McBride, Chester Labus, and Ian Labus. He was very close to his siblings and their families, the late Thomas N. Gresham, the late Nelson R. Gresham, Joseph Weldon Gresham, George Niel Gresham, and Jean Greenwood. Jack served his country during WWII in the 557th Bomb squadron, 387th Bomb Group of the U.S. Air Force. He also served in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953 at Ellington Field. In 1947 Jack moved his family to Texas City where he began his career at Union Carbide. In 1948, he moved his family to La Porte where he retired in 1986 and has lived ever since. Jack was active in politics and served as a La Porte Precinct Judge in Harris County. He was also an active member of the La Porte Community Church.
Visitation will be held Thursday May 7, 2009 at 6-8 PM at Paul U. Lee La Porte Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Friday May 8, 2009 at La Porte Community Church.
