Geneva C. Bailey March 08, 1929 - October 26, 2014 Geneva Clara Bailey, age 85, died on October 26, 2014 at the Colonial Oaks in Pearland, Texas. She was born on March 8, 1929, in Shoopman, Kentucky, to Charles Adam and Sena Ann Keith Flynn. After marrying her first husband, William “Bill” Faris, and having four children; Geneva found her calling in education and thus made a life-long career of teaching. She taught 1st grade in Deer Park and La Porte School Districts for 23 years; being remembered by her fellow teachers as able to “teach a doorknob to read”. She truly found pleasure in the work and continued as a volunteer teaching illiterate children and adults long after retirement. In 1985, Geneva remarried to James “Jim” Bailey, of La Porte and spent several happy summers road tripping across the country. She later became an avid artist in china painting; creating a wealth of pieces that now adorn her children and grandchildren’s cabinets. Among her favorites of her broad china collection, were her angels; and while her family will miss her greatly, we are glad to think she is among them now. Geneva is survived by her sisters, Juanita Brown and Charli Turner; her four children and their spouses, Gus and Jean Faris, Kay and Doug Turner, Kathy and Pat Jackson, and Mary Gayle and Jeff Triplett; eight grandchildren and spouses, Alli Faris, Jaymie and Chad Kosina, Kathryn and Will Hilton, Kelly Jackson and Damon Alexander, Andy Jackson, Chris and Aly Dodgen, Lynda and Dustin Riley and Jeffery and Jessie Triplett; and five great-grandchildren, Carson and Cade Kosina, Aaron Hilton, Cadhla Riley, and Jeffrey Triplett III. She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings and their spouses, Owen and Clara Flynn, Rosemary and Frank Peters, brother-in -law Gordon Brown; her first husband, William “Bill” Faris; and her second husband, James “Jim” Bailey.Family will receive friends from 4-7pm Friday Oct. 31, 2014 at Paul U.
