Alice “Mammy” Holland, on September 26, 2010 went to join her beloved husband of 55 years, Kent Holland and her loving daughter in law Marilyn Holland. She was born in Carbondale, IL on January 29, 1923 to Edith and William Helton. Alice never met any strangers and brought laughter to everywhere she went. She touched many hearts. She will be remembered by all of her friends especially those at Happy Harbor Apartments. Alice is survived by her son Rick Holland, daughters Cathy Holland and fiancée Roy Johnson, and Edie Austin and husband Bill, grandchildren Autumn Holland and Jason Muessig, Heather Holland, Lacey Austin, Alicia Austin, Erik Austin and wife Kristi, and great grandchildren Mikella and Kailyn Austin.
Visitation will be held Wednesday September 29, 2010 at 5-8PM at Paul U. Lee La Porte Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Thursday September 30, 2010 at 10AM at the funeral home as well.
