Robert "Wayne" Lee December 03, 1937 - January 01, 2008 Robert W. Lee “Wayne”, 70, longtime resident of La Porte died January 1, 2008 in Webster, TX. Born in Baytown, TX to Melvin Baldwin Lee and Anna Marie (Wagner) Lee on December 3, 1937. Wayne was a graduate of La Porte High School and attended Texas A&M University. He was the owner of Container Port Services in Houston before retirement. He is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by wife Shirley Lee, son Russell Lee and wife Amy, daughter Cynthia Whorton and husband Brian, grandchildren Jackson Lee, Kayla Koch, Kelsey Lee, Lance Koch, Rylee Whorton, brothers Allen Lee and wife Nelda, Ronald Lee and wife Sandy all of La Porte, stepson Kenneth Cole and wife Dawn, step-grandson Kenneth Cole, Jr. of Houston, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family would like to thank his caretaker, Mr. Doug James. Wayne loved fishing in the Galveston Bay, hunting and bowling. He was an American history buff particularly interested in the weaponry and the battles that were fought during the Civil War and WWII. Visitation will be held Thursday January 3, 2008 5-9 PM at Paul U. Lee La Porte Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 PM Friday January 4, 2008 at the funeral home conducted by Doug James. In lieu of usual remembrances memorials may be made in Wayne’s name to The American Diabetes Association, 2400 Augusta Drive Suite #175 Houston, TX 77059.
