Kenyon Pearce Lewis, 20, died at home in La Porte, Texas, on April 2, 2015. Setting a high standard for himself, Kenyon was an Eagle Scout who graduated fifth in his 2013 class of more than 500 at La Porte High School. He balanced a passion for books with love of nature and the outdoors, and joy in playing with his niece, Tori. Even as he struggled in confusing times, his unique, generous spirit touched many. Kenyon is survived by his mother, Dawn Pearce Lewis, and partner Jerry Lemon of La Porte, Texas; his father, David K. Lewis, of Rye, Texas; his sister, brother-in-law and niece, Jenna Hargraves Pinkston, Michael Pinkston and Tori Pinkston, of San Marcos, Texas; grandparents Donald K. Lewis and Pat Lewis of Forest Park, Georgia; as well as uncles, aunts and cousins. Kenyon was preceded in death by Grandmother Rose Lewis and Grandparents, Mickey and Ralph Pearce. The family has set up a scholarship fund in Kenyon's name through La Porte High School. Checks payable to La Porte High School - Kenyon Lewis Scholarship Fund can be mailed to 1002 San Jacinto, La Porte, TX 77571, or hand delivered to the La Porte Independent School District Administration Building.
Family will Receive Friends on Thursday evening, April 9, 2015 at the Paul U Lee Funeral Home, 201 S. 3rd St in La Porte, TX, from 5 – 9 PM.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015, from 12 – 3 PM, at the Bridge Water Events, 2651 S. Hwy 146, Baytown, TX 77520.
