Obituary of Ernest Milton Beasley

Ernest Milton Beasley, Jr. June 22, 1929 - February 11, 2009 Ernest Milton Beasley, Jr., 79, of La Porte passed away Wednesday February 11, 2009. He was born June 22, 1929 in Jackson, Mississippi to Essie and Ernest M. Beasley, Sr. Mr. Beasley was a member active member of Bayshore Baptist Church. He retired as a Publisher for Laurel Leader Call in Laurel, Mississippi and the Methodist Hospital Systems. He loved music and to play his guitar. In his early years he played at The Grand Ole Opry with such big name stars as Earnest Tubb. He is preceded in death by his daughter Kelly Skurlock. He is survived by his wife Mary Beasley, son Ernest M. Beasley III and Liz of Cloud Croft, NM, daughter Terri Totten of St. Louis, Missouri, brother John Beasley of Florida, sister Lisa Getz of California, and grandchildren Devin Skurlock, Kim Lee, and Morgan Beasley. Visitation will be held Friday February 13, 2009 at 6-8 PM at Paul U. Lee La Porte Funeral Home Chapel. Service will be held Saturday February 14, 2009 at 11 AM at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held Monday February 16, 2009 at 11 AM at Enin Cemetery in Rye, Arkansas.
