Ralph Leonard Mains Sr., born on February 9, 1928 in Hodge, California passed away on July 8, 2017 in La Porte, TX. Ralph served our country as a member of the Army/Air force. Ralph was an avid flyer, enjoying every meeting and adventure he went on. He was a member and former President of the Chapter 712 Experimental Aviation Aircrafts Association, and also a member of the La Porte Airport directed by Miss Debbie Rihn. Ralph retired from Fina off of Battleground Rd., where he enjoyed working with his favorite coworkers. He was a die-hard Houston football fan. He was a Luv Ya Blue fan with the Oilers and continued his loyal love for Houston football when we got the Texans. Ralph was a great man, an exceptional husband, father, son, brother and friend. Ralph was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife and best friend, Linda Mains, daughters Sylvia and Cindy, sons Roy, Ralph II, and Charles, siblings Elnyr, Andrew, June, Pearl and Margaret, grandkids Margaret Ruth, Shane, and Justin, and his good buddy Murphy the K9. Ralph is survived by his son Andy and Ralph’s daughters Connie, Sherryl and her husband Rich Velmont, Marsha and her husband Jim Peters, Dixie and her husband Joe Zobal, Lissa and her husband Gary Johnson, Bunni and her husband Erich Lotspeich, Lenee’, Valerie and her husband Doug Steen. Ralph had 26 surviving grand children, Patrick, Pennie, Billie Joe, Fran, Stevie, Sarah, Scott, Shaun, Richie, Sherrie, Reben, Heidi, Hollie, Steve, Lori, Mike, Brian, Tina, Sharon, Amy, Missy, Robin, Bobby, Brianna, Haley and Elijah. He also had 57 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 6-8pm at Paul U. Lee Funeral home in La Porte and the funeral service will be at the Paul U. Lee Funeral Home Chapel at 10am on Saturday.
