Longtime La Porte resident Carl Henry Martin passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 27, 2017, at the age of 87.
Carl was born in LaPorte on May 28, 1930 to John and Erna Martin who immigrated to La Porte from Hume, Germany in the 1880s.
Carl proudly served his country in the United States Navy during both World War II and the Korean War.
Carl is reunited in death with his beloved wife Norma Jean Martin, his son Michael Martin, parents John and Erna Martin, brother John Martin, sister Mary Quinn, nephew John Quinn.
He is survived by daughters Linda Nelson Parker, and Karen Martin Harris and husband David, grandchildren Jerry Parker V and wife Ann, Jennifer Andrau Shpilsky and husband Steve, and Lauren Bohlmann; and great-grandchildren Benjamin Shpilsky, Willem Shpilsky and Preston Prince; nephew Jeffrey Quinn, niece Jacqui Fojt and husband Ray; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial Service to be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at Paul U. Lee Funeral Home, 201 South 3rd Street, La Porte, Texas.
