Funeral Service Friday, Apr 21, 2017 10:00 AM Alonzo "LONNY" Obed Meadows May 26, 1956 - April 18, 2017 Alonzo “Lonny” Obed Meadows Jr. - Age 60 of Pearland, TX and long-time native of LaPorte, TX passed away April 18, 2017, after a courageous battle against cancer. Lonny passed at home with his beloved family and five german shorthaired pointers by his side. Born in Great Lakes, IL he spent most of his time in Baytown, TX before moving to LaPorte and graduating from LaPorte High School; as did his wife and children. Lonny was an avid lover of the outdoors, fast cars, and his dogs; but his number one priority always belonged to his family. As a well know figure in the rotating equipment industry, he started his career at Brown and Root, moving on to Dresser Clark Industries before devoting 25 years in management at Sulzer Hickham, and 7 years as General Manager at BW Grinding. Lonny took a leap of faith by assisting with the startup of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Pearland as Repair Manager in 2014. His life was dedicated to the happiness and provision of the best possible for his family. He was deeply involved in his children’s sports as a coach and biggest supporter. Lonny is preceded in death by his Father Alonzo Obed Meadows Sr. and survived by his Mother Sylvia Brantley, sister Sheryl Box; Mom Peggy Hall; Wife of 34 years Cindy Meadows; daughter Heather Meadows Webb, husband Kelin, and grandson Torrin; sons Jake Meadows, Josh Meadows and wife Tiffany; german shorthaired pointers Sadie, Ginger, Moose, Vixen, and Wendy; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and good friends worldwide. Services Friday April 21, 2017 10:00 AM Paul U. Lee LaPorte Funeral Home Chapel with a Graveside Service at Boswell Cemetery near New Waverly Tx. At 3:00 PM. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Thursday from 5-7 PM.
