Laurence Ronald Minks November 18, 1937 - December 06, 2007 Laurence Ronald Minks born in Raymond, Washington on November 18, 1937 beloved husband of Velma, passed away suddenly on December 6, 2007. Ron was preceded in death by his mother Gladys and father Laurence Minks. Ron enjoyed a truly wonderful life and had an accomplished and exceptional career. He was greatly admired by all who worked with him for his warmth and humility. Ron, together with his wife Velma, own Minks Furniture Outlet in Seabrook. Prior to owning the store Ron was an Aeronautical Engineer at the NASA Space Center, where he worked on the design of the space suits for the Lunar Missions in the late 60’s and 70’s. He earned the prestigious “Snoopy Award” in recognition of his involvement with the Space Program. Ron will be sadly missed by all members of his family and friends. His mission was to ensure that everyone that came into his life benefited personally from his wealth of experience, everlasting affection, and most of all his love of life. Ron is preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Minks and survived by brother George and wife Patty Minks, brother David and wife Susie Minks, sister Marrilee and husband Don Shoop, sister Linda and husband Charles Williams, daughter and son-in-law Laurie and Wayne Rutledge, daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Mark Fraser, daughterRhonda Minks, son Doug and daughter-in-law Joyce Minks, son Justin Minks, Christopher and Brenda Eichenlaub, Kimberly and Jeff Smith, as well as 15 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. The funeral will be held Saturday December 15, 2007 at Paul U. Lee La Porte Funeral Home Chapel.
