Obituary of Herbert Mitchell

Herbert Mitchell January 31, 1929 - December 19, 2008 MITCHELL Herbert “Mitch” Mitchell Sr., 79, of LaPorte passed away at his home December 19, 2008. Born in San Augustine County, Texas to Augustus Ralph and Annie Bell Mc Cauley Mitchell. Mitch Retired from the United States Air Force after 20 yrs of service, attended Life Community Church in LaPorte and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Proceeded in death by his Parents, Brothers, Onnie Metteaur Mitchell, A.R Mitchell, and I. D. Mitchell, Sisters, Maxine Allen, and Bernice Leach, also Daughter in Law Cheryl Guillaume. Survivors include, his wife, Gloria Mitchell of LaPorte, Children, Herbert Mitchell,Jr. and wife Cheryl of Nacogdoches, Lynn Hopkins and husband Mark of Nacogdoches, Julie Saunders and husband Bobby of Grand Prairie, Carey Guillaumne of Secaucus, N.J., Glen Guillaume of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., Ronnie Guillaume and wife Shelly of Denim Springs, La., Rhonda Mascarella and husband Charlie of Hillsboro, N.C., One Sister Ellen Menefee, of Chireno,Tx. Grandchildren are Heather Mitchell, Justin Hopkins and wife Tiffany, Amanda Powell and husband Chris, Matthew Hopkins, Tyler Edwards, Josie Saunders, Carey Guillaume Jr., Olivia Guillaume, Kevin Guillaume, Andrew Guillaume, Adam Guillaume, Clarisa Christofferson Ault, Stephanie Guillaume, Jordyn Mascarella, Gabriel Mascarella, and Dominic Mascarella. Great Grand Children are Samantha Hopkins, Ava Hopkins, Krystyne Powell and Christopher Powell along with many Cousins, Nieces, Nephews. Also survived by his four legged best friend T. J.. Services Monday 10:00 A M at Paul U. Lee LaPorte Funeral Home Chapel with visitation beginning at 9:00 A. M., Pastor Alan Neel officiating Graveside services at 3:30 P M at the Little's Chapel Cemetery in Chireno, Texas near Nacogdoches with Rev Billy McDaniel conducting the committal. Honorary Pallbearers are Jeff Houston, Pete Lopez, Juan Cortez, Darren Monteilk, Tom Pierson, Bob Domec, Matthew Hopkins, Tyler Edwards, Chris Powell, Jimmie Menefee, Ronnie Guillaume and Glen Guillaume Thank you so much for all the help and support from Pastors and Life Community Church Family and Christus Hospice, Pastor Herman and Sister Rositta, all the nurses and caregivers.
