Brett Allen Norwine
November 01, 1952 - November 04, 2007
Brett Allen Norwine was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 4, 2007. A lifelong resident of LaPorte, Brett was baptized as a young boy at First Baptist Church where he was also a member.
An outstanding sportsman, Brett spent his boyhood playing little league baseball and football which helped him become a stellar pitcher and awesome varsity quarter back as a young man. An athlete and 1971 graduate of LaPorte High School, Brett was proud to be a Bulldog.
Brett went on to become a Journeyman Electrician by trade and marry the love of his life, Barbara in 1998. Brett and Barbara spent much of their time participating in church activities and developing their new passion: riding Harley Davidson motorcycles across the country. Brett enjoyed riding his motorcycle with dear friends right up to his final day with us.
Brett is preceded in death by his mother, Minnie Belle Norwine, his father, Gene Mervin Norwine, the second love of his life, his pit-bull, Bo, and many very much loved aunts and uncles. Brett is survived by his wife, Barbara, their oldest daughter, Shanna Phillips and husband Johnny, their youngest daughter, Kim Oldfield, and her husband, Rick, as well as his eight grandchildren: Ashley-Ann, Shelby DeNeal, Khyrea, Kyle Michael, Rhiana Belle, Allen Seville, Candace-Arlen, and Corbin Douglas. He is also survived by his beloved sisters, Kathy Luecht, her husband, Gary, and Patty Rhoden and her husband L.G. along with many beautiful and loving nieces, grand nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
