Raymond Charles Philpot, age 86 passed away peacefully in his sleep after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease on Thursday January 7, 2016. He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father Virgie Ray Philpot and Bradley Philpot, Sr., Brothers and Sisters Walter Philpot, Bradley Philpot, Jr., Alice Copeland, Clarence Philpot, Doris Philpot, Betty Philpot, and Jerry Philpot.
Charles was born October 31, 1930 a Halloween Baby in Hamilton, Ohio. Son of Bradley and Virgie Philpot, one of nine Siblings. He was nine years old when his Father moved to Texas. Graduated from Deer Park High School. Upon Graduation he went to work at Champion Paper in Pasadena, He enlisted in the USMC IN 1951, completed two tours of Duty in Korea, and was awarded the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and National Defence Medal. After Military Service he returned to the Paper mill until his retirement in 1985.
Charles married Lishia Hinkle in 1953, they settled in Pasadena and raised two sons Terry and Timothy Philpot. Charles and Lishia moved to LaPorte in 1974 and still reside in the same residence.
Charles was a baptized Christian now resting with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Charles was a likeable and vibrant man who enjoyed working and supporting his Family and helping others. He left an everlasting impression on everyone he met and everyone was a friend.
Charles is survived by his loving wife Lishia Philpot, Sons, Terry and Tim Philpot, Daughter-In-Law Ester Philpot and Grandchildren Grace and Roy Mays. He is also survived by Brother Jim Philpot and Sister-In-Law Audrey Philpot. He is survived by many special and beloved Nieces and Nephews.

Services will be 1:00 P M Tuesday at Paul U. Lee LaPorte Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Grand View Memorial Park Pastor David Flores officiating, Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Monday night from 5-8 PM.
