BINNS
Paul R. Binns was born in Port Clinton, Ohio on January 27, 1933 to Susan Holly. In the 1950’s he married the late Gertrude Irene Whetstone with which they had a family of 7 children. In the 1970’s he married Louise Barton, who survives him. He is also survived by his children Harold Whetstone, Fremont, Ohio, Judy and Terry Strickland - Jacksonville, FL, Susan and Quinn Hagerty - Jacksonville, FL, Paul and Judy Binns - Oak Harbor, OH, Sharon and Lonnie Cook - Jacksonville, FL, Cameron and Renee Binns - Jacksonville, FL, step-children Melanie Burton, Theresa Burton and James, Lannie Burton and Jo, 31 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son Johnnie "Butch" Whetstone - Clyde, OH.
He was a Steeple Jack by trade. Following his career as a Steeple Jack he owned Paul Binns Garbage Company which he owned for many years. Additionally, he spent time as a Hot Shot Driver in the Houston/La Porte area.
His love however was for his career as a commercial fisherman. This created a love in Paul that never died for the water, and fishing every moment he could. You could find him at the lake or the river in a moment’s notice. It didn’t take much convincing for him to spend a day fishing with his family and friends. This is where he created most of his lasting memories and “fish stories”. Just ask his kids and grandkids.
However most of all, Paul was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be missed by all. We love you!
