Millard Eugene Porter

Millard Eugene Porter went to be with the Lord on October 5, 2008. He was born December 7, 1937 in Campti, Texas. He was a graduate of La Porte High School in 1956. He enlisted in the United States Air Force the same year, where he spent much of his service as a radar operator in the Alaskan Air Defense Command. He was Reserve Officer on the La Porte Police Department in the mid 60’s and the first and only Police Chief for the city of Lomax from the late 60’s to 1980. He was a retired Police Officer and also retired from Quantaum Chemical (formerly U.S.I.). Millard will be greatly missed as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. His smile and humor will live in our hearts forever. Millard is preceded in death by his parents and brother. He is survived by his loving wife Sherron Porter, son Randy Eugene Porter, daughter Renae Fasbender and husband Darren, brothers Manual Porter and wife Darlene, Gary Porter and wife Sandra, grandchildren Jessica, Brittany, and Ryan Porter, Brennen, Madeline, and Cameron Fasbender, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousin.
Visitation will be held Tuesday October 7, 2008 at 6-8 PM at Paul U. Lee La Porte Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Wednesday October 8, 2008 at 10 AM at First Baptist Church of La Porte.
