Dorothy was born in New Jersey but moved around a lot as a child. She once mentioned that she probably lived in most every state at one time or another. She graduated from LaPorte High School and soon married Joe Ryan and was married over 50 years before Joe’s death. In her younger years she worked as a waitress in LaPorte and also owned and ran Ryan’s Day Care Center on Broadway for several years. She was also a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church for many years. If you know Dot well you know that she loved her family with great passion. She also loved a good game of cards or dominoes and never passed up an opportunity to hear a good joke (or even a bad one)! She was a resident of Paramount Rehabilitation Center these past eight and a half years and we are so thankful for the care that she has received from them. Thank you to all who took the time over the years to visit her, she will be missed by many. Visitation will be 7/14/2015 from 5-9pm with Rosary at 7pm at Paul U. Lee LaPorte funeral home. Services are 7/15/2015 at 10am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in LaPorte, Texas with internment to follow.
