He graduated from Throckmorton High School in 1937 and married Annabel Lee on May 24, 1944 at Camp Pickett, Virginia. Born and raised a true Texas, he grew up in the small town of Throckmorton, where he graduated and later attended barber school. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant during WWII. After his discharge, he was employed by Shell Oil Company for 25 years, retiring in 1974. He devoted his life in caring for his wife, Ann, of 63 years, his five children, and all acquaintances whose hearts he touched. When not working or caring for his family you could always find "R.C." on Galveston Bay doing what he loved most--fishing with his buddies.
