Our condolences to Rusty's family and friends. An icon in La Porte and the Galveston Bay Area has passed. He leaves us with a lesson in how life could be lived unselfessly, lifting spirits of those who need a little boost up and always an ear when to listen is all that is needed.
10-7 dear Rusty.

A warm amber flame that helped and enriched so many lives in Southeast Texas has gone, never to spark again. I will miss waving at that grey VW as he ran the roads visiting his multitudes of extended families. We will miss you.
P.S. The song at Rotary this week was pretty tough without you.

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of my good friend, Rusty. He was a wonderful man and he was a great friend as well.
I never heard an ill word spoken of him. He was kind, compassionate, and a true gentleman. Sadly there are few people like that in the world today.
Friends are a gift from God
They bring us joy and happiness
And help us in times of need
That's why I can truly say
How glad I am I had this friend.
Please extend my sympathy to your entire family and let them know how much we share their pain at this sad time.
In Friendship & Sorrow,

Rusty was a very sensitive man. He played the music for my husband's funeral several years ago. (Jack Hawkins). I tried to give him some money, but he insisted that he would not take it. He said "It is the least I can do." He always treated my family well and we will miss him.
