Obituary of Nueborn Alveston Shepherd

Nueborn Alveston Shepherd, Jr November 05, 1931 - May 09, 2016 Neuborn Alveston (Sonny) Shepherd, Jr. Sonny born November 5, 1931 went to be with the Lord early Monday morning, May 9, 2016. He was born in Houston and lived in LaPorte, Texas all his adult life. Sonny was preceded in death by his mother Thelma Thompson Shepherd, his father Neuborn Alveston Shepherd, sister Joanna McCall, grandson J.T. Lee and granddaughter Madison Niemtschk. He is survived by his wife Darlene Shepherd, daughter Angie and Jimmy Lee, daughter Monique Shepherd, son Bryan and Pansy Niemtschk, daughter Jennifer and Jack Johnson, sisters Joy Vaughn, Margie and husband Jack Sanders, and his brother Richard Shepherd. Many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive him. Sonny held numerous positions during his long career with Shell Chemical, finally retiring after 36 years. He enjoyed many outdoor hobbies, salt-water fishing, deer and bird hunting, with his final hobby and first love, building and flying remote control planes. He was a long time member of the Texas City RC Airplane club. He also enjoyed woodworking, was an avid mechanic of small engines, and loved the pecan season.
