Obituary of Dorothy McShea Block

Dorothy McShea Block November 05, 1922 - July 31, 2012 Dorothy McShea Block, Born November 5th, 1922 in Lowell, Massachusetts. The second of five children, all girls, graduated from St. Johns Hospital as a Registered Nurse and commissioned Ensign in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corp in 1944. She was recalled to duty during the Korean War, and remained on active duty when that war ended. Dorothy met and married her husband in April 1958 while assigned to the U.S. Naval base at Newport, Rhode Island. They were blessed with one daughter, Mary Margaret, who currently resides in Santa Fe, Texas with her husband Gerald Reyes and their daughter Susana. Dorothy met and kept many friends throughout her life both here and abroad. She thought of them frequently before she left to join those that preceded her. Memorial Rosary will be 7:00PM Monday, August 6th, 2012 and services will be at 10:00AM on Tuesday August 7th, 2012 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church 15500 El Camino, Clear Lake City. In lieu of usual remembrances, donations may be made to the Salvation Army. Should you go first and I remain, to walk the road alone. Go live in memories garden dear, with happy times we’ve known. We’ve known so much of happiness; we’ve had our cup of joy. And memory is one gift of God that death cannot destroy. Walk slowly down that long lone path, that I may walk the same. For some day down that lonely road, you’ll hear me call your name.
