Christopher “Chris” Allan Stanford Dayhoff, age 72 of Pearland, passed away on May 31, 2010. He is preceded in death by his parents, George & Elizabeth (Claussen) Dayhoff. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl “Cher” (Keplinger) Dayhoff; sons, Christopher Dayhoff Jr. & his wife Veronica, and Charles Dayhoff; daughters, Theresa Contreras & her husband Joel, Marie LaRue, D’rese Werry & her husband Kevin, April Hernandez, Elaine McInnis & her husband Greg, Elizabeth Ann Dayhoff, Jacie Jeffrey & her husband Carl, Yvette Pierce & her husband Mike, and April Richards & her husband Brandon; brother, George Dayhoff Jr. & his wife Sara; sisters, Elizabeth Ann Willhelm & her husband Joe, Lenora Farinola & her husband Pino, and Susan Storzum & her husband Uwe; thirty three grandchildren; and thirty three great-grandchildren.
Chris was born on September 6, 1938 in Brownsville, Texas and resided in Pearland for the past fifteen years. One of his greatest passions was riding his Harley Davidson trike, “The Bandit”, with Cher. They created many memories biking, especially when they went to Sturgis in 2005. Before his illness, he and Cher went to numerous motorcycle rallies around the state and took several wonderful cruises to the Caribbean Islands. In November 2009, Chris and his friend Jim took a hog hunting trip that ended up being very meaningful to the both of them. To his grandchildren, he was affectionately known as “Grandpa” and in his spare time, he loved shopping on ebay to find good deals. Chris will always be fondly remembered for his adventurous and loving spirit and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Visitation for Christopher will be held on June 6, 2010, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Houston National Cemetery, in Houston, Texas on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at 10:30 am.
